Code of Conduct for the Natick Little League Players in all Divisions

1)       Good sportsmanship is to be displayed at all times. Play for fun and work hard to improve your skills.

2)       Players are to know, understand and honor the commitments that they and their parents have made to coaches, teams and the leagues.

3)       Players should always try their best, and be honest with all involved.

4)       Players at no time will use foul language; it simply will not be tolerated.

5)       Respect and adhere to all league and team rules.

6)       Players should always be on time for games and practices.

7)       There is never to be any unruly or physical contact with any player, coach or umpire.

8)       There is to be no flagrant throwing of bats, batting helmets, bases, glove and any other equipment.

9)       League uniforms are to be worn for league games only, and are not to be worn otherwise, exclusive of hats.

10)   Absenteeism with out notification form games and or practices will not be tolerated.

11)    NO player may challenge any umpires decision, whether it is ball/strike, fair/foul or safe/out. Umpires decisions are final.

12)    NO derogatory remarks are to be made by anyone to opposing team players or coaches.

13)    Taunting will not be tolerated, this includes, trash talking, ridicule and    embarrassing remarks to opposing players, coaches or umpires.

14)    NO smoking or alcohol will ever be allowed

15)    Players can expect to be treated fairly and with respect from all involved.

16)   Clean up bench/dugout area after every game of all papers, cans, bottles and any other trash in area.

17)    All violations reported to the league office will be dealt with individually and could lead to immediate dismissal from the league.



Code of Conduct for the Natick Little League Coaches in all Divisions

  1)       Know the rules and abide by them

2)       Communicate to all team members the rules and instruct them in such a way as to motivate each member to compete according to the rules at all times.

3)       Respect game officials and refrain from questioning their decisions in a disrespectable manner, never question an umpire’s judgment call.

4)       Ensure that all players and spectators follow field rules and regulations. (NO smoking or alcohol allowed on any fields.)

5)       Ensure that all fans conduct themselves with sportsmanship and maturity at all times. Assist when necessary, officials in controlling spectators during the games

6)       Respect coaches and players of opposing team both during the game and its conclusion, regardless of outcome.

7)       Teach each player to be humble and generous in victory as well as defeat, best illustrated through personal example.

8)       Maintain control of your emotions and avoid actions, language or gestures that may be interpreted as hostile or humiliating.

9)       Instruct all support personnel, assistant coaches, in their responsibilities in accordance with established rules and procedures.

10)   Provide your team with all league issued equipment and make sure all is in good working order.

11)   Provide a safe environment for all participants.

12)   Review with all members’ sportsmanship and continue to monitor policies throughout the season.

13)   Serve as a positive role model.

14)   Show sportsmanship by displays cheering and applauding the good plays of both teams.

15)    Treat the contest as a game not a war.

16)    Show good judgment in your choice of words.

17)   All violations reported to the league office will be dealt with individually and could lead to immediate dismissal from the league.


Code of Conduct for the Natick Little League Parents and Fans

  1)       Do not force your child to participate in any sport.

2)       Remember this is set up for the child to participate and is a youth sport not adult.

3)       Inform coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of your child or the safety of others.

4)       Learn and understand the rules and policies of the league your child is participating in.

5)       Do not at any time engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike behavior with officals, coaches, players or other parents. Booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands or using profane language are all considered unsportsmanlike behavior.

6)       Teach and encourage your child to play by the rules and resolve conflict without resorting to hostility.

7)       Demand you child treat other players, coaches, officials and other spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.

8)       Teach your child that doing their best is more important than winning, so they will never feel defeated by the outcome of an event. Praise them for competing fairly and trying hard.

9)       Never ridicule or yell at your own or any other participant for making a mistake or losing, keep in mind they did not do it on purpose.

10)   Respect the officials and their authority during and after each event. Do not question or confront coaches on the field or during an event take the time to speak at an agreed upon time and location.

11)    Use of tobacco and alcohol is not allowed during any event or on any of the town fields.

12)   Refrain from coaching your child during the scheduled games or practices unless you are one of the official team coaches.

13)   Always show respect for the public property and team issued equipment.

14)   Keep in mind the practice of good sportsmanship is far better than the preaching of it.
